About me
Hi, I’m Katrina. I’m a freelance editor based in Melbourne, Australia.
For as long as I can remember I’ve loved reading, books and words. I started my editing career as an editorial assistant at a large educational publisher in what was truly my dream job. I couldn’t believe I was getting paid to work with manuscripts, page proofs and books all day.
Over the next two decades I gained extensive editorial experience across a range of subject areas and reading levels. I’ve worked on a wide variety of print and digital publications ranging from 8-page literacy readers for beginner readers to 1600-page dictionaries.
Experience
I have two decades of experience in educational publishing, most recently as an in-house senior editor specialising in secondary Humanities and English.
I have also worked on products for primary, tertiary, dictionaries, English language teaching, and Papua New Guinea school publishing.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English and Film Studies from the Australian National University, and a Graduate Certificate in Editing and Publishing from the University of Melbourne.
